First Reconciliation

First Holy Communion in our Parish

In line with Dublin Diocesan Policy ‘we celebrate First Holy Communion in the presence of the community of the believers in our parish’ gathered for Sunday Eucharist. The preparation for and celebration of First Reconciliation and Holy Communion is co-ordinated by the Parish.

When presenting their child for Baptism, parents ask that their child be joined with Jesus, in His Church. They undertake to teach their child about God, and to bring up their child as a member of the Church. At the end of the celebration of Baptism we look forward to First Holy Communion.

If you wish your child to take the next step in becoming one with Jesus in His Church, the Parish and the Schools are there to help you.

The Schools and the teachers do an excellent job in teaching the programme of Religious Education in the school. The Schools and teachers are also a key point of contact between children, parents and parish.

However, if your child does not attend a local school, you are welcome to join our preparation in the Parish beginning in the September before the reception of the Sacraments.

The Parish invites parishioners to be a ‘Prayer Friend’ for a child who is preparing for the Sacraments during the year.

The Parish arranges the Parent meetings, ‘Do this in Memory’ Masses and other celebrations.

Our Parish Sacrament co-ordinator is Sr. Philomena Neary RSC who can be contacted at 0863224217.   It is the hope of our Parish that the celebration of First Reconciliation and Holy Communion will be a happy, and joyful occasion for your child. Together we will work to accompany your child on this journey of faith.
